During Pre-Production I was the Writer and Cinematographer so my experience and knowledge as a cinematographer influenced how I wrote the story. The process of planning was fairly simple compared to other projects I have worked on because I wrote the script and there for, I could visualise how it was going to look as I was writing it. The story involved a lot of night scenes and therefore after discussing with the editor we decided to film some of the night scenes (where possible) during the day and then colour grading them to look like night. This was to save time during the shoot and to also avoid late night shooting.

My influences for the cinematography that I kept in mind whilst shooting was, ‘Master of None’. This American TV show inspired me in many different ways with its high production value and its high use of two shots. I took this as inspiration because with two shots I feel like you can really ship a pair of characters together and at the same time make the relationship believable to the audience. I feel that if I were to focus on singles then the characters would feel isolated from each other and therefore not gain the chemistry needed to fall in love and for it to be convincing.

In post-production I colour graded the film, giving it its final look. I went for a look that gave the film depth in order to elevate scenes and performance. I did this by creating multiple nodes, applying a LUT and experimenting with both style and tone.

In conclusion, I think the final film has come out fairly well. When starting this project I set out to make a bisexual love story and I believe that is what I have achiveved, my love for rom/coms helped me and I wish to do more in the future.
